The Last Band I Was In

Published by Jason at 8:27 pm under Shameless Self Promotion, Video Edit This

It’s been an awfully long time since I’ve played in a band. The last one I was in was called Captain Paradox . The Captain himself, aka Adam Kroloff, has been at it forever and is still at it with a new album. I was in the band from 2000-2002, played some really fun gigs in the Washington, DC area, and then we broke up because Adam moved to Pittsburgh. And like real rock and roll warriors, the last night we played we had 2 gigs a few blocks from each other! The first gig was at a holiday party for the DC activist crowd. There were interpretive dancers on before us, and then we did a short set before hightailing it down U Street to the Velvet Lounge for a full set.

This video is  from the party gig, with people doing incredibly silly dances in front of us. Enjoy. I plan on posting some other clips of my previous bands, though this is the only band I have any video of.

not bad man, not bad at all. Too bad you don’t live in Ohio, I need a bassist so bad right now lol. I’ve even contemplated just picking it up myself because I know what I want from one - I just can never get it lol. Good tunes though man.

Thanks, sk! That kind of stuff was more straight ahead rock than I really enjoy playing these days, but it was a lot of fun while it lasted. These days I’m interested in playing more complex stuff, hard progressive rock perhaps infused with a bit of jazz. I’m still needing to get something together here in the Bay Area. It’s hard enough finding people who are on the same musical wavelength, but throw in the fact that I don’t have a whole lot of time to rehearse and it’s really hard. There are a few jam sessions I can go to from time to time though.
